Nobody knew exactly when the vegetables had started making decisions. It sounded like a joke at first. Photosynthesis is overrated. Being grounded became a liability. Celery, it turned out, was wildly ambitious. And don’t even get me started on the ego… Botany was no longer considered a reliable source. And now nobody seems quite sure where we’re headed.
